There are reasons why roses have thorns. These thorns are not there to harm or destroy the rose flower, but to protect and prevent them from animals or people who may want to harm them. You see; the rose flowers do not get upset by the thorns around and neither does it worry about the thickness of the thorns. The rose understands the purpose for which there thorns are there so they relax and grow beautifully to amaze people who love them for what they are regardless of the thorns.
In life, we may sometimes face some thorns such as pain, hurts, disappointment, rejections, neglects and isolation not because we have done something wrong or bad, but because of our beautiful destiny or future. The rose does not stop growing or flowering because of the thorns; rather, it grows and shines when the time comes regardless of the thorns.
In the same way, you must not stop growing or chasing your goals, dreams, visions or aspirations because of negative people that constantly show up when you decide to do something different. Not everyone will like you or love you for what and who you are. The world may become a very lonely place for you because of the truth and you stand for in life. You may sometimes experience darkness on the path of your purpose.
Many people may have shunned you for no apparent reason. These are the thorns of life that you may need to overlook and stay focus in the pursuit of your dream and vision. You don’t have to change yourself or disfigure yourself to please anyone. Remain authentic and be who you are created to be and never give up. Be like the warrior who never gives up until the battle of life is won. Be like the postage stamp on an envelope which never moves until it gets to its destination.
The beauty of the rose is preserved and protected by the thorns around it. Begin to renew your mind-set about how you view life challenges sometimes in order to overcome them. The beauty of the rose flowers over shadow the thorns around them. Your success and victory will overshadow the pains, rejection, isolation and what have you only when you don’t give up on yourself. There is great success within you. There is beauty in the inside of you and there is honour awaiting you, but the thorns of life are there to mold, shape, prepare and get you ready for that glorious moment of your life.
Don’t give up. You are very special in the sight of God and therefore, He allowed the thorns to protect and preserve you from those who are aiming to hurt you. Stand tall and remain focused on your very assignment in life. Step up and keep up. Your beauty will one day overshadow your thorns of life.
