Dear Counselor,
My name is Bella, a 26 year old graduate. I have been living in emotional pain and torture for the past one year. It all started in level 200 when my father passed away. Life became unbearable for me and I had no option than to fall on a boyfriend for money to buy handouts and my upkeep.
Though a Christian and brought up in a godly way, I fell along the line and gave in for sex which has resulted in 3 abortions. The third incidence was almost a life claiming abortion which resulted in finding my feet back in the house of God. I regretted totally from my past life and had called it quits with my boyfriend but my conscience is always condemning and killing me silently.
I have stopped sinning and confessed my sins but I have been wondering whether God has forgiven me. I cry always when I am alone for messing up and killing innocent children. Please help, will God ever forgive me for deliberately sinning against Him?

Our Counselor Says:
Hello Bella,
I know what you are feeling and going through in life. Your conscience may be condemning you but Jesus Christ did not come to condemn sinners but to redeem them from sin, burden of guilt and penalty of sin.
Whatever be the sin you fall into, God will forgive you if only you genuinely repent and run to Him for forgiveness. You may think your sin is so horrible that God could never forgive you, but it doesn’t matter how big or small it is. There is no sin that is too big for the blood of Jesus Christ to forgive and wash away. God’s forgiveness never runs out. Remember, while Jesus Christ was being crucified on the cross He still said, “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34)
1 John 1:8-9 says, “If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
When Jesus paid for our sins, He paid for all of them—past, present, and future. There is nothing you can do that He would have forgotten to cover or wouldn’t want to cover. He paid the price for the entire human race and all our wickedness (Isaiah 53:5-6; 2 Corinthians 5:21).
Even though you know you are forgiven, you may still feel guilt over your sin. Guilt will still hang around you if you don’t forgive yourself. But sometimes feeling a little guilty is not necessarily a bad thing.
Guilt is a natural response from our conscience to remind us not to repeat those sins. Once you have genuinely confessed your sins, know that you are forgiven by God. Remember to forgive yourself too, because the past is in the past and cannot be changed, but you still have control over what you do today and tomorrow.
Take hid in order not to commit same sexual sins again leading to abortions. I will humbly suggest that you see a medical doctor for checkup if the abortions weren’t properly done by a professional doctor.
Wishing you all the best in life.
PRAYER
Say this prayer with me.
Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I ask that you forgive me from my sin of abortion. Today, I promise to live right to please you alone. Assist me to say no to immoral life activities. Deliver me from the burden of guilt and renew a right spirit within me. Grant me the grace to stand for you no matter the circumstances that may come my way. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
