Over the past few decades, there are growing interest in enhancing one’s looks and appearances to enhance one’s confidence, achieve personal interest, enhance public image, enjoy media hype and to do anything to attain celebrity status. As a result, many women have embraced the idea and are ready to undergo breasts and buttocks augmentation for several reasons. The question one keeps asking especially among the body of Christ is what does the Bible say about breasts and buttocks augmentation? Is it a sin for Christians to do so? Can Christian women do it without any guilt, shame of ridicule and have a free conscience to do whatever that pleases them?
Why are many women rushing to undergo the knife for breasts and buttocks augmentation?
1.It is a fulfilment of Bible prophecy?
Any Christian that goes chasing the things of the world is not really a Christian. The Bible says that in the last days, the love of many people shall wax cold (Matt. 24:12). This topic is dealt in details in the next subtopic.
2. No fear of God:
A true Christian woman knows that she is fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God (Psalm 139:14). If you really fear the LORD, you will be grateful for how specially and wonderful He has created you to be different from all other people.
3. No direct Bible text stands against it
The argument and the excuse of many women and Christians to undergo the knife and opt for breasts and buttocks augmentation is premised on the fact that there is no direct or specific scripture that speaks against the act.
4. They have money to afford it:
Breasts and buttocks augmentations cost women a lot of fortunes and easily part with several thousands of dollars to get their breasts and butts done. If it is that expensive, then why do women still rush for it? The answer is simple. They feel they have the money and they have the right to do whatever pleases them.
5. They see diet and exercise as slow and time wasting
While many women are going the hard way to discipline themselves and hit the gym regularly to exercise and go on special diets to get into shape and beautiful forms, others see it as time wasting, difficult and not easily achievable.
6. Crazy desire for fame and celebrity status:
The crazy desire of many young ladies to become the next social media sensation to enjoy media hype and easily slip into fame due to an unusually big breasts and big buttocks has caused many to save money, indulge in immoral activities and other illegal means of acquiring money to just to go under the knife and have that desirable shape.
7. Look more sexually attractive
The desire of many women to look more sexually attractive and appealing than others has caused many people to do so many regrettable things in the name of looking attractive to men and enjoy some level of celebrity status.
8. Pressure from men
Women are not really the only cause of going under the knife for breasts and buttocks augmentation. Some men are the real cause for which women are pressurized to go through many things to look like the kind of “perceived ideal woman” they have been fantasizing sometimes through porn movies. Forcing your wife to go through these and personally footing the bills should not be misconstrued as love but a chasing after the wind and a move to live a life of pretense.
9. Not happy with body features
I do not see the reason why you should not be happy with the kind of body God has created and given you. He knew the special reasons for which He created you and gave you this kind of body. Not being happy with your body is to reject who you are; your unique identity and pride in life. The woman is not happy with the way God created her is not simply not happy with God. Breasts and buttocks augmentations are a direct insult to God. It is just like looking God in the face and telling Him that “God, you are not wise to create and give me this kind of body shape”.
10. Deformities in the body
And to many more women, it could be simply some level of deformities in their bodies resulting from many medical malfunctions or through accidents. Regardless of the situation, undergoing the knife is not the best of decisions for your life as a Christian or even an unbeliever.
What does the Bible say about breasts and buttocks augmentation?
The Bible does not specifically and directly talk about breasts and buttocks enlargements or augmentation. However, there are some scriptures that explain the reasons and desires of women to undergo the knife for “bouncy and an attractive body”.
1. It is a fulfilment of Bible prophecy:
The Apostle Paul gave a prophetic message about the last day events and wrote to Timothy saying “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people”, 1 Timothy 3:1-6. Paul did not only write a prophetic message but warned the church as well to avoid such people.
The Bible also gives accounts of Christians and unbelievers that pursue sinful desires in the last days and this also includes breasts and buttocks augmentation or chasing after their own sinful desires (2 Peter 3:3-4). Christians are advised not to pursue vain glories and be conceited in life (Phil. 2:3-4).
2. Charm is deceitful
One of the biggest strategies of the devil is to use charm, deception and all forms of schemes to deceive people. Going under the knife to augment your breasts and buttocks is to live a life of pretense and become an imposter. You are putting up an appearance and some kind of personality that does not represent you. This means you have a double personality trapped in pretense and deceit. Remember that charm is deceitful. Beauty is not the ultimate when it comes to marriage so do not be misled by charm and beauty.
3. Do not appear to be attention seeker:
In 1 Timothy 2:9-10, women were advised to stop dressing to draw attention to themselves. Any form of dressing solely targeted at attracting all and sundry to be focused on you alone is self-glorification. It is for this reason that Apostle Paul advised the women to ensure that their dressing will not only be about the physical but more modesty and spiritual.
4. It is a chasing after the wind and the sinful desires:
Women who crave for breasts and buttocks enlargement or augmentation forget about the side effects, the huge cost of maintenance and spiritual implications on their lives and soul. Unfortunately, some people have met their untimely death as a result of breasts implants and other forms of cosmetic surgeries which have gone wrong.
Any hope for those who have already undergone breasts and buttocks augmentation?
Truth is, many women who have done breasts and buttocks augmentation have already regretted their acts but are trapped in thoughts and not knowing what to do. So, is there any hope for those who have already undergone the knife? Yes, there is. The Bible teaches us that if only you will repent from your sins, open our mouth and confess all your sins, the LORD God is faithful and just to forgive you all your sins and cleanse you from all forms of unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). The LORD God is ready to forgive you and give you a new life and a new hope. Though some surgeries may be difficult to reverse, we serve the living God that is able to reverse your life for you to be connected back to Him to have your joy of salvation. Make that decision today and now.
Will women who go through breasts and buttocks augmentation go to hell?
It is important to note that you will give account on judgment day concerning any decision you make today. The motive and secret desires in your heart behind every little thing you do matters to the LORD. Eccl. 12:14 warns that the LORD will bring every secret deed into judgment. You will surely go to hell if you die in your sins without repenting. Get connected to the LORD Jesus Christ, He is more than able and ready to save you from your sins.
Prayer of Forgiveness
Dear LORD Jesus, I have been led by my own selfish desires and did things to please myself and displease you. You fearfully and wonderfully created me per your own designs and purpose but I went after my own sinful desires. Today, I repent of my sins. Forgive and cleans me from all forms of unrighteousness. Make my life anew and renew a right spirit within me in Jesus Mighty Name.
